One of the requirements for entrance to the Seminary is a recommendation from the student's congregation. This verifies each student's involvement in the life of a local congregation, and encourages the church to assume proper oversight.
This also is why the M.Div. degree program requires a church internship.
The Seminary is not meant to be an ivory tower. The student's participation in the life of the church while in Seminary is an application of classroom learning and a vital part of the overall training. Practice in different areas of ministry in the local church is encouraged. Pastors are invited to speak in chapel and to serve on the President's Council.
We believe that God put the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in place almost two centuries ago that we might be here in these critical times to prepare graduates who will glorify God and build His church.
