To receive the maximum benefit, we encourage students to complete the course within one
year. Also, please note that the Fundamentals Training Course is good for ACBC
Certification purposes if you apply for certification with ACBC within 4 years of taking
the course. For example, if you finish the Fundamentals Training Course in 2021, you
will need to apply for certification by December 31, 2025. (Your application will
include the submission of your completed ACBC Theology Exam and ACBC Counseling
Exam.)
Observation
ACBC certification also requires counseling observation. If you have completed our
Fundamentals Training Course and live within driving distance of our campus, you may
register for our BC610 Counseling Observation class as an auditor for $99.
If you do not live in the Pittsburgh area, we recommend the observation videos produced
through the online resources of the
Institute for Biblical Counseling and Discipleship
(IBCD) to fulfill your ACBC observation requirement.
Supervised Counseling
For those pursuing ACBC certification, read more
here about your supervised counseling
options through the Biblical Counseling Institute.
MARRIAGE COUNSELING SPECIALIZATION
RPTS also offers an ACBC-approved
Marriage Counseling Specialization course for those who have already been certified and who desire to earn the ACBC Marriage Counseling Specialization.
Applied Theology for the Church
Our Applied Theology for the Church program, includes
online resources for those who desire to learn more
about biblical counseling in their own context, at their own pace, but do not desire
ACBC certification.
Online training does not require enrollment as a student at RPTS.
