RPTS Biblical Counseling Institute Director Comes toFirst Baptist Church of Clarion November 7-8 for “Discipleship: Are You Competent to Counsel” Fall Conference
(Clarion, PA) – October 15, 2009 – First Baptist Church of Clarion, Pa., will host a fall conference entitled “Discipleship: Are You Competent to Counsel?” on Saturday and Sunday, November 7 and 8. The church is located at the corner of Main & Seventh in Clarion.
The conference speaker is Dr. George C. Scipione, director of the RPTS Biblical Counseling Institute in Pittsburgh, Pa. Dr. Scipione is a board member and supervising fellow of the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors. He also founded and directed the Institute for Biblical Counseling and Discipleship in San Diego, Calif.
Saturday, November 7
Brunch, 10 - 11:45 a.m. at the Clarion Holiday Inn. Cost is $10, and attendants should call the church by Nov. 4 to advise which breakfast they want (pancakes & sausage or eggs and bacon).

Special Q&A and roll play session for pastors and other church leaders.
All other events listed below are free and held at Faith Baptist Church.
5 p.m., Session 1: “When a Pupil is Fully Trained, He Will Be Like His Teacher: The Danger of Secular Counseling”
6 p.m., Dinner
7 p.m. - 8 p.m., Session 2: “You Are Your Brother’s Keeper.”
Sunday, November 8
9:30 a.m., Sabbath School, “You Are Competent to Counsel One Another.”
10:30 a.m., Sermon, “The Body of Christ Building Itself Up in Love”
There is no tuition fee for the events at the church, but a free-will offering will be taken.
