Obituary for Dr. William Russell, Previous Registrar and Professor of Church History

Dr. William Russell, who served as Professor of Church History and Registrar at the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary from 1985-1996, passed away last Wednesday, May 6, 2009. He was 85.

He was a devoted husband, father, teacher and friend. We are grateful that he is now rejoicing with our Lord in heaven, but know that he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.  Dr. Russell also served as a Professor of History at Geneva College, and was named Academic Dean in 1963. He was an active member of College Hill Reformed Presbyterian Church in Beaver Falls, PA, where he also served as an elder for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Martha, and his children, Mary Louise and Dale.

Memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to the College Hill Reformed Presbyterian Church, 3217 College Ave., Beaver Falls, or to Geneva College, 3200 College Ave., Beaver Falls, PA 15010.
