Gibsonia Study Center at Grace Reformed Presbyterian Church Hosts “Understanding the End” Series Featuring Seminary Professors March 9 - April 13
(Gibsonia, Pa.) – February 16, 2009 – The Gibsonia Study Center at Grace Reformed Presbyterian Church (RPC) at 3916 Bakerstown Rd. will sponsor a free 6-week seminar series from March 9 through April 13 entitled Understanding the End.
"While these lectures will not focus on things like the hyped predictions of Nostradamus and Mayan calendars, those who are wondering about the End Times due to the recent 2012 movie and related popular discussions may be interested to hear about what the Lord Jesus Christ has revealed about the end as He has designed and purposed," said Rev. Jeffrey Stivason, pastor of Grace RPC and one of the men who will lecture.
The seminars, which run Tuesday nights from 7 to 8:30 p.m., deal with a number of common questions within Christianity regarding what the Bible teaches about the end of the world, the millennium, the tribulation, the Antichrist, and the consummation of the heavenly kingdom of Jesus Christ. The following professors from the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary who will lecture and their topics are:
March 9: Rev. C. J. Williams, professor of Old Testament Studies, “Waiting for the Temple: Seeing the End from the Beginning”, based on Genesis 1-3, answering the question: “Has the plan for salvation changed?”
March 16: Dr. Dennis Prutow, professor of Homiletics and Pastoral Theology, “The Relationship Between Israel and the Church” based on Daniel 2 and Daniel 7.
March 23: Dr. Dennis Prutow, “End Times Calendar”, a study of the Seventy Weeks in Daniel 9 along with consideration of the 1,000 years in Revelation 20.
March 30: Rev. Jeffrey Stivason, adjunct professor of Pastoral Theology and pastor of Grace RPC, “What About the Tribulation?: Suffering as the Church’s Eschatological Experience with Future Glory.”
April 6: Rev. Jeffrey Stivason, “Who Is the Antichrist?”
April 13: Dr. Edward Robson, emeritus professor of New Testament Studies, “The Seven Blessings of the Revelation.”
The Gibsonia Study Center offers seminars and mini-courses designed for Christians interested in increasing their Bible knowledge and others to learn more about the Christian faith. There is no tuition fee, but a free-will offering will be taken.
