RPTS Offers New Counseling Concentration for Doctorate of Ministry Degree -- Seeks Applicants to Begin in Summer of ‘09
(Pittsburgh) – February 5, 2009 – The Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary (RPTS) announces plans to begin offering a second concentration in counseling for its Doctorate of Ministry (D.Min.) degree and is seeking interested applicants.
The new concentration, entitled Strengthening Counseling Ministry, is one of two concentrations for the D.Min. degree program that is called Strengthening Ministry in the Kingdom of God, which is a professional degree providing advanced training for those who minister to and pastor people in the Church. It is a program of study and research intended for ministry renewal, reinvigoration in Biblical and theological studies, integration of theological convictions with societal issues, and enhancement of the skills needed for effective Biblical ministry. It integrates advanced academic research in the various fields of theological study with the practice of ministry. The other D.Min. concentration is entitled Strengthening Pastoral Ministry.
The RPTS D.Min. degree follows a cohort model, in which a group of students begin at the same time and work through the classes together. The next cohort opens this August. To apply, call 412-731-8690, or visit http://www.rpts.edu/academics/dmin.php, where a brief video about the program can be viewed.
