Retirement Celebration
Dr. Dennis J. Prutow, Professor of Homiletics and Pastoral Theology at RPTS, will retire after the spring quarter, 2013. Dr. Prutow joined the faculty of the Seminary in 2001 after serving as the Pastor of the Sterling Reformed Presbyterian Church in Sterling, Kansas, from 1988 to 2001.
Dr. Prutow came to faith in Jesus Christ while serving in the Army in Korea. He later ministered as a chaplain with the U.S. Special Forces and the Ninth Infantry Division in Vietnam. Dr. Prutow is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He earned a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from the Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida.
Dr. Prutow is a prolific preacher and writer. His sermons have been downloaded over 225,000 times. He regularly writes articles for the Reformed Presbyterian Witness and is the author of a preaching text, So Pastor, What’s Your Point. He has just recently finished work on another book, Public Worship, 101: An Introduction to the Biblical Theology of Worship, the Elements of Worship, Exclusive Psalmody, and A cappella Psalmody.
There will be a special evening celebrating the ministry and service of Dr. Prutow on April 19, 2013, at the Double Tree Hotel in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, at 6:30 p.m. Reservations are required. The Sterling Reformed Presbyterian Church of Sterling, Kansas, has planted seed money to establish the Dennis J. Prutow Scholarship.
